Thad Moffitt’s Race Ends Early at Texas

An optimistic weekend turned south for Thad Moffitt and Faction46 on Friday night during the SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway. Moffitt began the day strong with Faction46’s best qualifying run on a non-drafting-style track, 23rd. However, the race did not last long as Moffitt was involved in a 4-car incident on lap 2.

“Can’t dwell on it too much. It’s part of racing, so we’ll just move forward here and see what we can do in Kansas here in a couple of weeks.”

  • After being on the outside lane on lap one, Moffitt got loose heading into turn one on lap 2. While driving down the race track, trying to save the truck, Moffitt made contact with two trucks, which sent him spinning into the wall. Moffitt said that there was no mechanical issue with the truck during the incident.
  • Moffitt was checked and released from the infield care center after the crash. There are no injuries to report.
  • Moffitt and Faction46 now have two weeks off to prepare for the next race at Kansas Speedway. The Heart of America 200 will be on Saturday, May 4th at 8 PM ET on FS1. Moffitt’s emphasis is on getting physically fit for 5 races in 5 weekends starting at Kansas.

“We’re about to go into a stretch of races where it’s going to be pretty hot outside. [I’m] getting physically fit and getting ready for what’s coming our way. After Kansas, we have 5 [races] in a row. We’re getting busy, and business will pick up for sure.”
