Thad Moffitt Has a Clean, Solid Night at Kansas Speedway

A quiet race was just what the doctor ordered for Thad Moffitt and the Faction46 race team at Kansas Speedway. Moffitt brought the truck home with barely a scratch on it, finishing 24th.

“After the way Martinsville, COTA, and Texas went, we were going in the wrong direction, so, I think Kansas was a step in the right direction,” Thad said. “We were able to turn that around and have a solid day.”

  • Moffitt qualified in 26th earlier that day, and he laid low throughout the race. He stayed on the lead lap throughout the first two stages before the 67-lap green flag run to end the race. He ended up climbing two spots to finish in 24th.
  • Moffitt and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series head to Darlington Raceway this weekend for the Buckle Up South Carolina 200. Fans can catch the race on Friday night at 8:30 PM ET on FS1.
  • Moffitt will run a special throwback paint scheme this weekend at Darlington for the 75th Anniversary of the Petty family in NASCAR, featuring fans’ names on the truck bed. This scheme commemorates Bobby Hamilton’s 1996 scheme, honoring STP’s 25th anniversary in the sport.

“Of course, there are a lot of cool STP schemes you could throw back to, but, I was like ‘Man, that one’s different!’ It’s not blue and orange,’ Thad said. “I think it was really cool for us to be able to all agree that that would be a good paint scheme for Darlington, and the fact that we have the fans on board with us is really cool too.”
