Thad Moffitt Grabs Another “Little Win” With a Lead Lap Finish at Martinsville

What’s Happening?

Faction46 had to deal with some adversity early in the weekend at Martinsville, but the team persevered to record its first lead lap finish. Thad Moffitt overcame a brake issue in practice that prevented them from qualifying and an early spin to finish on the lead lap in 27th place. Moffitt has preached the value of “Little wins” for this race team, and he is thrilled to grab one at Martinsville.

“As a small team, we just have to sit back and take these little wins and celebrate them. Lead lap finishes, solid pit stops, and no penalties were a good thing for us.”

  • The weekend started off rocky for Faction46 as a brake part failure forced the team to forfeit their qualifying run to repair their brakes. Moffitt made contact with the No. 22 truck [Stephen Mallozzi] on lap 30, causing Moffitt to spin, but he lost no spots. From there, Moffitt kept his nose as clean as he could.
  • Aside from some minor damage, Moffitt brought the Truck home in one piece. He worked his way back onto the lead lap after the spin, and he stayed there all night. He was able to avoid the incidents in front of him to bring home a decent result.
  • The Truck Series moves on to Texas Motor Speedway this Friday, April 12th for the SpeedyCash.com 250 at 8:30 PM ET on FS1. Moffitt is excited for this weekend’s race at Texas. This will be his first race at the track.

“The little wins are what we’re looking for. Just another solid night on pit road, and keeping everything going in the right direction.”
